When the gang decides to go on a booze-free Christian cruise, Mac is initially flummoxed to meet a married Christian gay couple, completely throwing a wrench into his constant internal struggle. I started watching it a few weeks ago, and it has since become a favorite of mine. Now for those unfamiliar with the show, that may be a strange question. What could be so bad about a sitcom? While I love the show and find it hilarious, many of the jokes can go too far for the sake of comedy. Many people hearing those episode names may jump to the side, believing the show crosses some lines.

That may have been obvious, but hear me out. The characters are terrible people; that is the entire show. Our protagonists are not meant to be cheered on in any way. They are never portrayed as the good guys. This leads to a show where a group of deplorable individuals gets punished consistently.

While things seem to be going their way for a time, it always blows up in their face, and they end up right where they started or worse. Now, I still believe there are a few episodes where the showrunners push the line a little to far with their comedy. The fact that these characters are always shown to be in the wrong help. The episodes always end up being an eviscerating satire of the issues depicted.

Now, would this show have gotten greenlit in ? I am honestly not sure. I think the absolute decimation of ableism, sexism, homophobia, toxic masculinity, racism, and every other issue presented is done masterfully and never looks like it is promoting the ideas. There is no real way of knowing if the show would have been greenlit today. However, I sure hope that it would be. Their last series was a clean sweep against UIC, and the team has already won games against Indiana and Purdue.
